Who “they” are and why they’re trying to steal something from you

Last night, before Trump’s particularly colorful speech, he tweeted “they are trying to STEAL the Election.”

Let me tell you who “they” are, because it’s NOT the Democratic party. It’s not Biden, it wasn’t Obama, and it is NOT Trump. The idea behind the word “they” is that you will jump to your own conclusions about who they are.

By ambiguously using the term “they” repeatedly, Trump has managed to conjure an invisible enemy who takes the form of your worst fears. “They” are trying to take something away from you. Be it your hard-earned money, your beliefs, your source of income — they are the enemy, and we mustn’t let them win.

This tactic is meant to appeal to anyone who stands to lose something; anyone who feels threatened by anything at all. Trump has encouraged extremism from both sides and manipulated Americans into taking up arms against each other, leaving no room for a moderate mindset.

We are all human here. We are all meant to think, feel, and act differently. So are you with us… or against us?
